Recyclable
Every roofing system will end up in a landfill at the end of their service life, except Durolast’s PVC roof that Bruttell uses. Most PVC roofing systems are recyclable. It takes approximately 400 years for asphalt to naturally degrade and much longer for all the other modified roofs. Keep in mind that there are billions of square feet of asphalt and modified roofing still used in the US alone and 99% of them will end up in a landfill.
Bruttell has other plans to keep these roofs active and out of the landfill. It is the Bruttell recycle plan. An annual maintenance and inspection contract can go along way in extending the life of a roof for years beyond its expectancy. This saves a building owner thousands of dollars in avoiding an early re-roof, often allows the re-use of insulation, eliminates the need of costly removal, and has tax benefits. See Inspections and Maintenance for more information.
If proper annual maintenance is performed on a roofing system and neglect is not an issue, Bruttell will most likely be able to lay our PVC roof over the existing roofing membrane. This will reduce costs and keep your old system out of the landfill. We like to think that you are saving your pocket and saving our planet. That is the Bruttell way.
